Final Extra Credit

1. The man was pushed in to the train tracks in an attempt to calm down another man who had been harassing people. In the attempt to calm him down the man pushed him into the train tracks. The photographer was able to take the photo because he was trying to get the train drivers attention. 2. The photographer took this photo in attempt to grab the train drivers attention to stop the train. 3. I think the photographer should of taken the photo because it grabs the attention of the eye and it is a very controversial photo. 4. I don't think the photographer did the most he could do because if he really tried to get him up himself people would have come over to help him pull out the man. If people would of come over to help pull out the man he could still be alive. Instead he came up with an excuse to pull out his camera so he could get a photo of what was happening. 5. I don't agree with the decision of putting this photo on the front page because this man is apart of a family

Website 1: This website talked about 10 resolutions to do for the New Year to be a better photographer. Some of the tips were to become more organized and to get useful critique. I learned that I need to be more confident in my photo skills so I'm able to take more better quality photo's that I'm happy with. 1. I picked this photo because of how eye drawing it was compared to the rest of the photos on the website. 2. Leading lines by the yellow lines on the road and framing of the women by the edges of the road. 3. I learned that there are many opportunities to take amazing pictures of nature.  1. I picked this photo because of how some of the bark stands out completely against everything else. 2. I see leading lines with the different colored bark up the tree. 3. Rachel Sussman Website 3: This website is about many different kinds of

Magazine Part II

Image Based: A picture of a person(s) looking at the camera and usually smiling.  This kind of cover is found on mostly celebrity and fashion magazines. The photo doesn't always have the person smiling and the photo can also be at a slight angle. Illustration Based: Not usually used but The New Yorker always has a illustration cover. An illustration cover is used to present something funny or out of the ordinary so it stands out next to other magazines. Some companies use illustrations as their covers but they are computer generated. Type Based: Rare cover but used more the illustrations. These covers tend to be shocking and striking. They seem like this because of how the way of how the type looks and presents itself. Concept Base: Used to present a strong message or just meant to be funny. These kinds of covers also have to be able to be understandable to the audience when they see it. Usually seen in business, news weekly, or independent magazines. The relationship betw

Readers' Choice Winner Concealed Carry “Comfort & Style,” May/June 2017 Ken Wangler and Dusty Reid, Designers and Photographers "Carrying a handgun comfortably while dressing with style is no easy task. For our 2017 'Comfort & Style' issue, we featured a classic American icon — the cowboy. We met real-life cowboy Keith Janke at his stable on a cool morning. Decked out in his own threads and tending to horses with his Springfield Range Officer on his hip, the relaxed and confident rancher exudes comfort. His distinctive cowboy hat and rugged jacket epitomize natural style. Meanwhile, the barn’s muted tones give the shot an authentically rustic feel while the sunlight peeking through old boards provides an additional eye-catching element." Keith Janke is made to look like a real life cowboy and the thing is, he's a cowboy in real life. For this magazine cover is there to promote the look of a cowboy and how comfortable it is to wear these kinds

Magazine Tips

1. Have an arousing curious cover to draw the eye 2. A screen does not give off what the actual cover looks like 3. A screen gives off more light than what the actual photo had 4. Print off a hard copy of your cover and glue them onto old issue to get as close to the real thing 5. Sneak your magazine into a shelf of other magazines to see if it stands out

Tips: 1. Changing the angle of the photo 2. Play with different back rounds 3. Get closer to the subject 4. Get people doing what they do in their everyday life (environmental shot) Environmental Portrait I like that this photo is really showing what this man does on a daily basis. I also liked how the photo is black and white because it almost makes you appreciate that older and simple way of life I chose this photo because it tells the story about what she does every day. From the photo we can tell that she is a designer and that she is very interested in fashion. Self Portrait I chose this photo because of how simple is it. The background is clear and it allows the viewer to focus of the girl and nothing else.   I picked this photo because of how much color is in it. The photo is of a little girl and when you see it is makes you happy because little girls are happy. Casual Portrait I chose this photo because of how it beautiful it is. The background lighting highl

American Soldier

A. I chose this picture as the most powerful image in the Denver Post because it shows what the people who fight for our country go through everyday. The generation growing up doesn't realize that people in other countries don't have the luxurious lives that we are blessed to live everyday. These soldiers go through so many terrible and life scaring experiences so ordinary people can live freely in our country. They do the dirty jobs, the sacrificing jobs, and tough jobs so we don't have to. They are the true heroes of our country that we don't give enough credit for. B. These images tell the story of a man in the Army, one of the toughest jobs on the planet. The story starts by him enlisting in the Army and graduating high school to fighting in Iraq and marrying his wife. It tells what he goes through everyday, the training, the fighting, the injuries, and the homecoming he's granted with when he comes home. He has done a great deed to our country and we are v

Questions: 4. No because a person's body is their body and it should not be changed or altered at all unless they have asked you to do so. 5. Top-100 Photos

Photo 1 (I looked for another photo's that Bradley Cooper has taken and I didn't find anything) 1. I picked this image due to the amount of people in this photo. There are many famous actors and actresses that all look like they're having an amazing time at the oscars. 2. Ellen DeGeneres was hosting the 2014 Oscars and in the middle of the show she goes down into the crowd to take a selfie. Ellen used a Samsung phone was used to promote Samsung in this stunt, which was constructed by Samsung themselves. 3. I learned that Bradley Cooper "messed" up Ellen's plan for the photo. He saw her having trouble taking a selfie with Merly Streep and wanted to be a gentlemen and take the photo for her. That act messed up her plan until she had him get in the photo where she also invited many other celebrities to be in the photo as well.
